Taking a 15,000-product range online
Somayas Kitchen is an online grocer for Indian, Asian and world foods serving retail and wholesale customers across Europe. It wanted to create a new online brand around a product range that was already much broader than many competitors.
The site needed to handle around 15,000 products, with hundreds changing every few weeks. Products, stock, orders and customers all had to stay aligned between Magento and the CSY Vector point-of-sale system without compromising site performance.
Ecommerce built for a complex catalogue
Slynk designed and built a Magento store with full-page, query and browser caching. The administration tools covered reporting, returns, product expiry dates and combined picking lists so staff could collect items for several open orders efficiently.
Customers could manage multiple addresses, see order progress, reorder previous purchases, earn and view loyalty points and save favourite products. Recipe pages linked ingredients and quantities directly to products, while quick add-to-cart controls avoided unnecessary trips through individual product pages.
CSY Vector, Magento and eBay kept in sync
The bespoke integration reflected product changes from Vector in Magento and pushed Vector inventory updates through Magento to eBay. Magento and eBay orders were sent back to Vector so stock stayed aligned and sales remained visible in the point-of-sale system.
