Direct orders without a new kitchen workflow

Spice Nights wanted to take more direct website orders, retain customer relationships and avoid marketplace commission, but needed a practical way to process orders quickly during busy periods.

Staff needed each order printed automatically, with an easy way to accept, reject or amend the requested collection or delivery time.

A resilient order-to-printer connection

Slynk connected WooCommerce to an internet-enabled Android PrinterCo thermal printer. New orders printed automatically with an audible alert, and staff could accept or reject them or set an appropriate fulfilment time.

The printer used Wi-Fi as its primary connection and a multi-network SIM as a fallback. That resilience kept orders moving when local connectivity or an individual mobile carrier had a problem.

The integration then sent the outcome to the customer immediately, including the accepted delivery or collection time.

The outcome

The takeaway could take direct online orders from day one without introducing a separate manual step for the kitchen or front of house.
